M.Sc Ernesto Vargas Catalán manufactures the diamond components within the VORTEX project. He obtained his M.Sc in Chemical Engineering at Uppsala University in 2014 and began his Ph.D studies at Uppsala University in 2013. His main focus is design and manufacturing of diamond vortex coronagraphs. He is particularly interested in micro/nanotechnology with focus on diffractive optics – preferably in diamond. Other research interest are etched diamond components for space applications.
