Jean Surdej is the head of the EASO (Extragalactic Astrophysics and Space Observations) group (http://www.ago.ulg.ac.be/Cnt/gphot_f.php?qUnt=AEOS) and co-promoter of the ARC 2013 (Action de recherches concertées) entitled “Imaging extrasolar planets in the mid-infrared with Annular Groove Phase Mask coronagraphs”. His main research activities have dealt with radiative transfer in expanding atmospheres, light curve inversion of asteroids, gravitational lensing and the 4m International Liquid Mirror Telescope project. Jean Surdej is also teaching at the University of Liège bachelor students in mathematics and physics, and master students (aero and space science, see http://www.aeos.ulg.ac.be/teaching.php).
