Elsa Huby received her Ph.D. at LESIA, Paris Observatory, in 2013. Her main research interest lies in the instrumentation for high dynamic range imaging at very high angular resolution.
Her PhD project consisted in developing the FIRST (Fibered Imager foR a Single Telescope) instrument, which is an implementation of an original technique based on the combination of non redundant aperture masking and single mode fibers. She developed the mechanical and optical design as well as the interferometric data reduction pipeline.
She joined the VORTEX team in March 2014 as a postdoctoral fellow. Her main role is to develop and implement new techniques for low order wavefront control (e.g. the QACITS algorithm deployed on Keck/NIRC2). She is also involved in the characterization and testing of the coronagraphic phase masks as well as in the construction of the VODCA (Vortex Optical Demonstrator for Coronagraphic Applications) bench.
